This Woman Went From Public Aid To Millionaire Status Through A Side Hustle – Here’s How She Did It

From perks to bullets, this story of a millionaire black woman is nothing short of inspiring.

Arnita Johnson-Hall told her inspiring story to CNBC, and her accomplishments are nothing short of remarkable.

The story begins in 2007, when she was a single mother living in Dallas, Texas working a dead end job to earn a meager $12/hour.

Because she was making so little money, this future millionaire qualified for all sorts of public assistance programs – including Section 8 housing. And without it, there would be no way that she would have survived.

“All of my income went to rent, gas, daycare, and unfortunately payday loans in order to survive until my next paycheck,” she told the outlet. .

When Johnson-Hall was offered a $60,000 a year job, it seemed like there was a light at the end of the tunnel. But then, when the company ran its credit, it was denied for having a score below 400 (it should be noted that while some states, including Texas, allow employers to perform credit checks on their potential employees , other states, such as New York, prohibit under their human rights laws). Johnson-Hall explained that while she started out with good credit, she didn’t understand financial literacy when she was younger — so she used a maximum of 25 credit cards.

This is what pushed her to completely change her life.

“This awakening led me to study the credit system and start AMB Credit Consultants, a side business that would later grow into a financial education business. Last year it brought in $1.4 million in revenue raw,” she told the outlet.

Johnson-Hall went on to explain that another aspect of her success was making her tragedy part of her testimony.

“When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I incurred over $80,000 in debt on my credit card to pay for holistic treatment. But by 2021, I had paid off over $60,000 of that debt, along with loans for my family’s two cars,” she explained. “I used this story to show clients that I understood how to navigate the financial planning and credit system even under the most stressful of circumstances.”

Congratulations to this new millionaire! We love to see it!
