Newly elected President of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, Agriculture and Technology (PHCCIMA), Eze (Sir) Mike Elechi, has pledged to open new frontiers of opportunity businesses in Rivers State and provide all-inclusive leadership during his tenure.
Elechi succeeded Chief Nabil Ahmed Saleh at the PHCCIMA 2021 Annual General Meeting recently held at PHCCIMA Council Hall in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
In a post-election interview, Elechi vowed to operate an inclusive government that will bring peace, unity and open new frontiers of business opportunities for member companies.
He said that PHCCIMA will continue to pursue its fundamental goals of promoting business in Rivers State.
Elechi, who was a former permanent secretary of the Rivers State Department of Public Works and Sports Department, also said his administration would induct Ease of Doing Business and engage all levels of government and their agencies in the advocacy for efficient and equitable economic policies.
According to him, PHCCIMA under his leadership will continue mentoring and developing large, medium and small scale enterprises in order to stimulate the local economy and attract foreign direct investment to the state.
Until his election, Elechi was the Senior Vice President of PHCCIMA, as well as the Managing Director / Managing Director of Vintage Group of Companies.
He has also held various positions as chairman of the NACCIMA Agric Trade Group; President, NACCIMA Building & Construction Trade Group; Chairman of the 2019 PHCCIMA Exhibition Committee; Exco Supervisor for PHCCIMA Agric & Agro-Allied Trade Group, among others.
Dr Chinyere Nwoga, Managing Director / Managing Director of Soluzone Limited, is also elected alongside Chief Elechi as 1st Vice President; Prince Charles Beke, former Rivers State Commissioner for Trade and Industry as 2nd Vice President.
Others include Emmanuel Ogbonda, MD / CEO of Kenneth and Kennethson Limited as treasurer; Sir Dan Harrison, MD / CEO of Dan Harry Nigeria Limited as Financial Secretary; Uche Onochie, MD / CEO of Maddison Group as Advertising Secretary and Engr Godwin Etim, MD / CEO of Goddie Chemicals International Limited as Welfare Secretary.
